VOLTAMETERS

ZES 173. Water Voltameter :

Cup shape with fitting and two graduated test tubes. The glass vessel is mounted on sturdy wooden base fitted with terminal and platinum wire electrodes. Supplied with brass metal test tube holder and graduated tubes.

ZES 174. Water Voltameter :

Same as above but electrodes are made from thick platinum strip.

ZES 175. Water Voltameter :

New designed having perspex transparent rectangular through fitted with carbon electrodes and two graduated test tubes. Mounted on a well polished wooden base.

ZES 176. Graduated Test Tubes Spare :

For voltameter describe from Cat no. 173 to 175 set of two. Made from neutral glass.

ZES 177. Hoffmans Voltameter :

For use in demonstration decomposition of water. This design is preferred for work of best precision. Platinum electrodes are used for electrolysis of water. The electrodes are mounted in rubber stoppers for insertion in the open ends of the voltameter limbs. The glass unit has two connected limbs integral with reservoir tube and funnel shaped bulb with a stop cock at the top of each limb. Supplied with suitable metallic stand, helps to prevent accidental breakage. Glass parts are made from corning glass.

ZES 178. Copper Voltameter :

It demonstrates the principle of electroplating. It consists of three copper plates suspended from a moulded Bakelite cover either in a glass jar or plastic jar. The two outer plates called "LOSS PLATES" are connected to one binding post on top and the inner "GAIN PLATE" is connected to the other binding post. All plates are firmly held in position when clamped and are easily inserted or removed. Chemicals are not included.

(a) Supplied in glass jar.

(b) Supplied in plastic jar.

ZES 179. Copper Voltameter :

Same as above but supplied without any jar.

CELL & ACCESSORIES

ZES 186. Simple Cell :

For studying the construction and characteristic of a voltaic cell. It consists of copper plate, Zinc plate and plastic jar but without solution.

ZES 187. Daniel Cell (complete) :

This cell is steady & reliable and may be used as open or close circuit works. It consists of a zinc rod immersed in a very dilute solution of sulphuric acid in an empty porous pot which in turn is immersed in copper sulphate solution. This cell consists of copper sulphate solution. This cell consists of copper pot of approximate size 5 " x 3 " Chemicals are not included.(only copper pot for daniel cell of size 5 " x 3 " empty porous pot and Zinc rod is provided)

ZES 188. Spare Copper Pot for Daniel Cell :
Size : (a) 5 " 3 " (b) 6" 4"

ZES 189. Lechlance Cell :

Because of its higher e.m.f. 1.5v and lower internal resistance this cell will deliver a stronger current for short period of time than the daniel cell. It consists of either glass or plastic container 95 x 95 x 150 mm length x width x height . The rim is shaped to accommodate the cathode, a zinc rod with terminal. (A carbon anode with terminal is sealed in a porous pot containing the depolarizer). We provide filled porous pot for anode. Requires approx. 500 ml ammonium chloride electrolyte with zinc rod and filled porous pot but supplied without electrolyte.

ZES 190. Standard Cell ( Weston Normal Type) :

Confirm to weston normal type.

Reproducible and reliable e.m.f.

Very low temperature co-efficient.

Prepared from materials of high state of purity.

Specifications :

E.M.F. 1.0186 Volts at 20 c

Temp. coefficient 40 micro volts / c rise in temp.

Internal resistance 500 ohms approx.

Approx. Weight 100 gm.

ZES 191. Zinc Plate with Terminal :

For use with simple cell. Approx. size 150 x 0.5 mm fitted with brass terminals.

ZES 192. Copper Plate with Terminal :

For use with simple cell Approx. size 150 x 50 x .6mm fitted with brass terminals.

ZES 193. Porous Pot Empty :

For use with daniel cell empty porous pot approx. size 150mm x 150mm dia.

ZES 194. Accumulator Lead :

2 Volt polystyrone case. This type of battery is recommended for duties involving comparatively small discharges and where recharges will be required less frequently than once every two weeks.

Voltage / Ampere per hour

(a) 2 V / 20 AH

(b) 2 V/ 45 AH
